Crate cars that decided to run with the sportsman must weigh 2250lb. FWD 8 and 12 valve no weight limit. 16 valve must weigh 2200lb..

Mod. Street will be running for weekly payout purse with no entry fee. Road Hogs will not be running due to not have any cars the last two weeks. Gates open at 3:00 pm est. the "big" pit area is reserved for super late models and sportsman with haulers. All others will be required to park in the pits in front of teir parking and the pit area next to general admission. This is on first come first serve basis. ALL classes will get heat races and feature races but a time limit will be added to the heat races so not to drag the racing out all night.

WARTBURG, TN (June 5, 2009)—With less than a month away, the Wartburg Speedway is gearing up to proudly present the 3rd Annual MACK Trucks 50 paying $7,500 to win / $300 to start for the Super Late Models on Friday Night July 3, 2009.

The event is expected to again draw the region’s best Dirt Late Model competitors to the high-banked oval located in Wartburg, TN; which again for the third year in a row is being presented by MACK Trucks of Knoxville, TN.

Along with the Super Late Models ($100.00 entry fee), the Sportsman will race for $1,200 to win ($25.00 entry fee & 12 car minimum), $800 to win Open Wheel Modifieds ($20.00 entry fee & 12 car minimum), $500 to win Street Stock ($20.00 entry fee & 12 car minimum), $500 to win Pure Mini ($20.00 entry fee & 12 car minimum), and $250 to win Front Wheel Drive ($10.00 entry fee & 12 car minimum).

The format for this years un-sanctioned Super Late Model event will be fan-friendly featuring a complete show of Practice, Time Trials, Heat Races, the Pole Dash, B-Mains and the 50-lap $7,500 to win main event. The Tire Rule for the Super Late Models is Open, meaning any brand and any compound.

Previous winners of the Fourth of July Weekend MACK 50 special include Anthony White from Clinton, TN in 2007 and Jimmy Owens from Newport, TN in 2008. Already in 2009, Super Late Model Special Event Winners at Wartburg Speedway include Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN on April 17 (Tennessee Thunder vs. PPM Southern Regional Racing Series) and Ricky Arms of Moss, TN on May 15 (Tennessee Thunder Series).

This event will be a double points racing event for all divisions competing. In addition to the spectacular Fireworks show, which is being presented by Exxon Fun Food & Smoke for Less in Oliver Springs, TN, there will be Door Prizes, and Cash Giveaways throughout the evenings event.

General Admission for this event will be as follows: Adults 13 years & up: $20.00; Children 7 to 12 years old: $10.00; Children ages 6 and under are admitted free. New Rules for Wartburg Sportsman

Cars can run a Dry Sump by adding 50lbs...cars with roller cams may run by adding 75lbs.

Crate cars can run with a 604 motor they can weigh 2200lb have a 12x32 left side spoiler and run any tire on the front but tires must stick 50 before race on rear ..(track retains the right to adjust weight to let any car run/rules may be adjusted to equal out compition).

Rule change for the Pure Street..

Starting with the race on Friday May 1st, Wartburg Speedway will allow the Pure Streets to run any intake and carburator up to a 750 cfm.

$800 to win Open Wheel Modified Race Announced for July 3rd!!

Wartburg Speedway is proud to announce a $800 to win Open Wheel Modified race for the "Mack 50" on July 3rd. a $20 entry fee is required and the payout is based on 12 cars.

A $500 to win Modified Street race was scheduled for this night, but due to the low car count so far this year,the race has been canceled. If the car count picks up by this night, then the race may be rescheduled.

Wartburg Speedway announces sponsor for July 3rd race!

Mack Trucks has agread to sponsor the July 3rd $7,500 to win Super late Model race. This is the second year in a row that Mack Trucks has sponsored this race and the race will now be called the Mack 50. Scott Green said" I am very happy to have Mack Trucks as the sponsor for this race for the second year in a row. Mack Tricks is a great company and they are great to work with as race sponsor's."

Wartburg Speedway 2009 Announcements

Starting with the 2009 racing season, Jot Raymond will no longer be a part owner of Wartburg Speedway. Jot has decided to sell his part out. Scott Green said "that i have enjoyed owning the track with Jot and I wish him nothing but the best".

Scott also said "I would like to let everyone know that my new partner is V.J. Murray from Oliver Springs. I think V.J. is going to be a great partner and i am very excited to have him. I think what you will see from us is consistency which I know has been a problem in the past. We are going to give away a lot of free tickets this year at all of V.J. stores starting with Exxon fun food here in Oliver Springs. I know we will not be having as many races as some other tracks but I think our schedule will be very exciting highlighted as always by our 7,500.00 to win super late model race on july 3rd. I have already spoken with a number of drivers who plan on attending that race again. I also think our co-sanctioned events with srrs and thunder have a chance to be great shows. Much more info later this week."

The 2009 racing schedule has been posted with the first race being scheduled for April 17th with the TTDCS and SRRS $3,000 to win and April 24th with it being slated as Fan Appreciation for the 2008 racing season. They will be a trophy presentation, door prizes, free giveaways and cash drawings. All fans will be allowed on to the track to see the cars and visit with the drivers with a signed release form. The first race on April 3rd will also be a double points night for 2009 to kick off the season. Sportsman Late Models, Modified Street, Mini Stock, Pure Street and FWD's and Open Wheel mods. will be on hand.

On April 17th Wartburg Speedway will be hosting a co-sanctioned SRRS/TTDCS $3,000 to win super late model event.. Also slated for 2009. is the July 3rd "Mack 50" $7,500 to win super late model event.

The classes running on a weekly basis will be, Sportsman Late Model, Pure Mini, FWD, Pure Street and Mod. Street and Open Wheel Mods. with UMP rules... The 2009 rules will be posted soon.

Wartburg Speedway announces starting in 2009 they will be running Open Wheel Mods. with UMP rules. The class will pay $400 to win and $60 to start.
